Notes: |
I have preserved some of the largest stones on this one. Unfortunately they melted a bit before I got them in the freezer. Intercepted this core on George Johnson road just south of Minesing near the Willow Creek. The hail started off small with the largest stone at 0.75 inches in diameter. There was a one minute pause and then the large hail started and lasted for 1-2 minutes. All the stones were around 1 inch in diameter or larger. Also have pictures of the hail right after it fell. The large hail was elongated and was not smooth, they were very unique stones. Most of the hail had small white cores in the middle with clear ice surrounding it. Several layers are present in the larger stones. |
