Notes: The hail began after during the second of the training T-Storms moving in from the SW. The hail started with pea size mainly for five minutes progressively increasing to largest size of 1/2”. After five minutes, the hail was 25% pea, 50% 3/8”, and 25% 1/2”. A majority of the hail was soft and white color (95%) with about 5% harder and mixed color not totally clear. This mix lasted for about 10 minutes then tapered off to only rain. There was very minor leaf damage, but no other damage. The hail covered the ground to a depth of 1.75”. It looked like a fresh snowfall. My hail pad was battered and has been replaced. We measured 1.38” of rain in the gauge from the storm. Neighbors 0.25 miles WNW and 1.5 miles N reported to me, 1.5 inches of precipitation in non-COCORAHS rain gauges and similar hail.
