Notes: The hail hit both the front and back of the house, and I have a big overhang, so it must have changed directions often and quickly. It barely got under my garage door; usually during hard rains I get a small pool of water inside my garage by the overhang door; but it was just wet; nothing to sweep out. // It accumulated in a single layer, except in the corner of the garage & stairs that faced the south, where it was in drifts (on the stairs) up to 4 inches deep, and maybe 5 inches wide. // It rained on and off from 4:39pm to 7pm. The hail was from 4:39pm to 4:55 pm which happened to be the time when a small amount of sun peeked out. There was lots of thunder, but no lighting, and a medium-color-grey sky.// The rain was mostly very heavy. I had my funnel in my rain gauge, and when the hail had stopped, I went out and there was no hail inside nor on the funnel; all liquid; total rain and melted hail=.73. (It would continue to rain and accumulate .89 more water). / At 5:30pm I went out and there was a strong smell of pine, from the trees being battered. There was a rapid riverlet running down my driveway and alongside my house for most of the event. There was very little greenery on my deck, but some tiny bits (rocks?) from the roof shingles, and splattered bits of dirt and/or mud on the bottom of the house and garage. // Despite it being 60-70 degrees, the hail did not melt right away, but stayed there while the rain came down heavy. At 2pm it had been sunny and 79 degrees.// TIME SCHEDULE: Around 4pm, thunder, constant; at 4:38pm a few big drops of rain; 4:49pm hail; 4:40 deck is white with single layer of hail; 4:43 rain restart heavy; 4:47 hail; 4:51 hail; 4:54 more rain than hail, heavy; 4:55 sun peek out, solid thunder came back; 5:02 thunder stopped; no rain or hail.
