I don't have a hail pad. Hail is a very rare occurrence in South Central Alaska. In this case, strong convection in unstable air was responsible for brief heavy rain in association with the hail. The rain fell at the rate of 1.04 inch/minute at the height of the storm. Total storm precipitation was 0.33 inches. |
