Quarter size hail was reported at our home in Carlsbad at 7:30 PM MDT. My wife and I were storm chasing and north of town in the Lakewood and Seven Rivers area at the time.
We encountered 1.25" dia hail falling on us but observed golfball to hen egg size hail on the highway between Lakewood and just north of the Carlsbad city limits.
Widespread curb to curb street flooding occurred in Carlsbad with the floodwaters one foot deep. Some intersections had 18 inches of flood waters. |
