Notes: |
Hail started while I was on a walk a mile south of station, with no watch, but I confirmed with my neighbor 0.5 mi east(wunderground station KCOGOLDE14) who observed that the hail started exactly with the rain and lasted 20 minutes.
The largest hail stones were ovoid, up to 1.5 inches and 1 inch long. Spherical hail stones up to 1.25 in in diameter had a white-ice core and crust, with a "mantle" of clear ice sandwiched between. |
